About "Free Shipping" and "Sale" Prices

Although some web sites offer "free" shipping, like the old saying "there is no such thing as a free lunch,"
 there is no such thing as free shipping. "Free Shipping" is merely a marketing tactic which appeals to our desire to get something for nothing. The cost of shipping either has to be built into the cost of each item sold or listed as a shipping charge. Rather than pad the price of our products we have opted to call a spade a spade and list our shipping charge. We never add a "handling" charge. (I have never understood this concept since as a business it would seem that part of our job consists of "handling" the products.) For convenience we offer a flat rate shipping charge, which in effect amounts to an additional quantity discount since the shipping is the same for any retail order. When you look at the time and money saved by not having to drive to the store and the convenience of having your products delivered right to your door, the shipping charge is still a bargain.

If the price is always the same, is it really a "sale?" Periodically I check competitor's prices on coconut oil just to stay current with what is happening in the industry. It seems that practically everyone else claims that their price represents some sort of a special deal. They typically show a "retail" price and then a "now" or "sale" or "wholesale" price. When no one sells at the "retail" price then the "sale" price is not really a sale but just another marketing ploy to make people think they are getting a special deal. Again, we have chosen to take a more direct approach by simply listing the prices at which we sell our product and not some make-believe price which we have supposedly discounted.

Our goal is to offer the best products, the best service and the best prices without all of the marketing hype and gimmicks.  We appreciate being dealt with in an honest, straightforward manner and don't feel that our customers deserve any less.
